It is Well

NOTE: There are four women in line for the purse: waiting for a response from the lovely 1st, will let you know asap when it is claimed!!

xoxoxox,
A

These past few weeks in the studio have been halting, tentative and fragile.
Lots of stopping for tea, lots of learning to be gentle with myself:
to not overwork muscles
or tax vertebrae

yet

in the midst of all of these new parameters, each moment has taken on a glow that is positively
beautiful.

New

Aching

And full of my heart.

It IS well with my soul, and I am so grateful.

Because these last few weeks have been so intimate and personal, I am only offering the bag through my blog and perhaps through Facebook (I generally 'know' most of my friends)
linked back to this post.

With this bag I played around using rivets of different sizes
and included a special cut of Arizona turquoise, set in fine silver bezel on sterling sheet, hand-stitched into the front of the bag between two bluebirds of happiness.

The lining is blood red suede, soft as a rose.

On the back is a cloud, harbinger of rain and storm:

on the front all is bliss
on the back there is challenge

but whatever my lot, it is well with my soul.

In bodily health, in limitation
with love and in turmoil
Blissed or battered

it is well, it is well with my soul.

The words on the back of the bag are taken from a hymn, but the message I send by making this piece is not religious, or yet it is ALL religions:

Buddha's Middle Way comes to mind...
the peace Christians feel knowing their savior is there with them, guiding their steps..
The idea that a yogini is the same in moments of challenge and happiness...

This bag's meaning is all of these things.

If you feel it is yours, please send me a convo and claim her.
Should no one do so, I will list her in the Leather Shop
in the coming days, but I want the woman who carries her to know the woman who made her, at least a little bit.

Love,
Allisunny

  3. oh my my....... if only I had the pennies to spare. So much of this resonates with me, and I would surely give her a good home.
I know she will find it with a special gal though, because she came from the hands of such a special woman.
