Furriers

When the summer sun is beating down upon our little city bungalow
and the tumbleweeds of fur on the hardwood
become more numerous than can sensibly be swept up bi-weekly
it is time for the Great De-furring of the Small Herd!

Once the process begins in earnest, the back yard is covered in white tufts
quite like a field of dandelions or milk thistle
in early fall...

Janey got mega-petted, too, we just realized that it's Jones who has the lion's share of
the hair loss: who knew a siamese mutt could be so...
voluminous!!

The fun in all of the action is closing the cats back in the house
to talk about life
and the state of our affair
over grapes
while tufts of white fur clouds drift by.

may everyone be blessed today!

  2. Funny - I had to brush our cats yesterday too! It must be something in the air.

I just love the photo of you and your husband. It is definitely one to be framed and put in the baby's room!
