Today I find myself being a little resistant, a little fragile and in need of some simplicity and meditation. I feel like if I could just sit down and do nothing but clear my mind I could find a solution to everything anyone has ever wondered.... but the day has been filled with good things in different ways...
The world will have to wait, I suppose!
To honor the part of me that needs simplicity, I worked on a custom traveler's ring, a very simple Montana Agate ring and a spare and elegant Labradorite necklace using two different kinds of sterling chain: one a textured cable, one a long-short of figure eight and ovals.
The combination of the two chains (with their oxidation and brushing) and the incredible blue light of the labradorite is just.... ah. Just 'ah'!
Would you just look at that blue? Like a pool to fall right into...
The Montana Agate is a size 7 and chock full of its own light and more colors than I am used to seeing in a Montana....
the stone is set simply and the brushed metal really lets the agate shine!
For my resistant little spirit, I was lucky enough to receive this cab in the mail: a dendrite TREE. It quieted and soothed everything that fought.
Miraculous!
For what was fragile in me I was the amazed recipient of this moctezuma agate, which I will be sending off to get cabbed.
Cradling it in my hand I felt so not alone: here was a little space that found itself filled over the course of millions of years....
Here are millions of years in a mortal hand.. it's almost too much to bear, the wonder of it all.
All of the finished pieces will be in the Metal Shop this evening.
I bid you all a fantastic Friday night: I know I will be sipping tea and thinking grateful thoughts to the angel who sent it my way.
