Maybe it's Magic?

I don't know what has happened lately, whether it's the meditation, the intense sense of love I feel whenever I walk into our tiny home and see our cats and my Schmilly and realize how lucky I am...

Maybe it's feeling a true autumn for the first time in six years...

Maybe it's all the cookbook reading and finding agates to write home about:

(Click on the picture so you can see the details: the moss, the intense golden banding on these spectacular agua nueva agates from Mexico....)

Maybe the pendulum has swung towards bliss but whatever it is that has entered my life with such delicious fullness I say, "YES!" with all my might.

I am in the throes of deep happiness and over the past three days I have captured it in silver, lovingly, truly and with passion.

Can you FEEL IT???? I am bursting at the seams with a near-painful joy and I am so excited I got to take a series of full days in the studio to capture it and bottle it in Sterling.

Two of the pieces you see above are custom orders: the luscious Queensland Agate is a custom order from a previous Custom Wednesday, as is the banded jasper that looks so much like a redwood stump.

What will be in the shop with gusto in a few moments are the following:

An incredible Moctezuma Agate necklace with my own little signature sterling granule-filled open drusy pocket. The drusy, my dearest ladies, is petal pink. The agate is the gentlest caramel-yellow I have ever seen. It is delicate, strong and drunk on love.

It is the Champagne Toast necklace.

Inscribed on the inside of this wide band size 6.5 ring are the following two words: 'Quiet Magic'. Those of us who are kind of shy and whose feet aren't always on the ground know that you don't have to be the center of attention to carry your soul
beautifully
gracefully
with wit and intelligence...

You can be the one reading a book at the back of the library, conjuring love spells for strangers and seeking to make the world a better place without saying a single word...

The party wallflower, writing the great American Novel in a hush while your friends grow louder and more intoxicated...

Yours is a quiet magic.

The opal in this ring is a boulder opal of spectacular bearing: a tiny fissure is visible millions of years in the making: it healed itself and grew shut with ironstone as its mending material.
Amazing.

Just like you.

These pieces will be in the Metal Shop and then I am off to the Sonoma Farmer's Market to stock up on freshness.

All my love to you, friends: I don't know if I tell you enough how much I appreciate you, but I do.
I really, really do.

I know exactly how you are feeling! For me I think it is running again, taking the time to hug my cat, and letting life lead me instead of my obligations. I hope the results are half as beautiful as yours!

The new pieces are beautiful. It's so nice to see some fresh opal in the shop, and the necklace with the silver bubbles looks like a spirited piece that you could wear everyday.

(name that tune)

Love you toots. I've been thinking about you all morning long -- praying that your hands are steady, that your body is physically well, that the tooling doesn't take the micky out of your back, that your heart is happy (and not skipping any beats), that you love the world around you.......
