Ambassador of Love

It's a jungle out there, people.

Just today I saw men and women getting spitefully cut off in traffic
insults hurled from a truly ill transient person
passive aggressive tones being taken at counters where strangers exchange money for packaged things under fluorescent light

I saw the forgetting of purpose
and the ignorance of our luminous nature

In my own heart I experienced the prickle of judgement
and the error of pride

and

in my silent witnessing of these things
("I am in judgement", repeated
" I wish to control my environment", repeated
fruitless wishes, I realized under the kind microscope of watchfulness)

I realized that I have to try harder;
that WE have to try harder

to let Love rule.

This cuff is shaped like a valentine's day heart
with rosy suede backing, pinked just like the felt missives my family and I made for each other
and for relatives on February 14th...

Little reminders on the piece to take heart,
be affectionate

colors that bring warmth to your wrist,
your mind
most certainly your own chest...

And a light-filled slice of prehnite set in fine and sterling silvers
to cut through the fog of routine.

This heart is worn with the meeting point facing away from you:
it is built to be worn that way

so that every time you hand your money to a clerk
a bridge toll-taker
extend your hand for a shake with someone you previously labeled 'stranger'
reach out for babies
produce
or
animals

that this perfect heart is what they see.

Trust me,
it will register:

I've worn mine for the better part of five days
and already the smiles I've received, the kindness it has invited is
immeasurable.

This particular piece is for a 6 - 6.25 inch wrist

Friday I will reveal the larger of the two, for around a 7 inch wrist.

From my heart to yours with great affection!

oxox,
Allison

I can hardly say how much I like this, both the cuff and your words about it.

Absolutely adore this. It really resonates with me.

If your creative exploration ever leads you to working with fabric and you decide to make a heart-shaped wrist corsage/cuff again, I'm the first one in line.
