Agates of the World

Side view of a Sonora Plume agate.... like trees, those plumes!!!

Beautiful colors.... remind me of Rasta flags...

This is an agate I am cabbing whose name escapes me: rare, beautiful, supremely dimensional...

Priday Moss Agate: looks like poppies, no?

Here is the proverbial cake-taker - Kazakhstan Thunderegg, one of the most beautiful I have ever seen... (eh, Ms. Kelly, ehhhhhh???)

You may notice the backgrounds are different colors: in moving the camera away from reflective surfaces (though photographed indoors in shade) there are different levels of light reaching the machine...

each photo has been adjusted to show you what it looks like in real life: not what my camera wants it to be, which is an even better version of itself: brighter colors, etc.

My goal is for you to see it as my eyes do, here in the shade.

(Long winded, but you understand)

More thunderegg goodness....

Druzy pocket-riddled plume agate.
Heaven help me.

A tiny sliver of Prudent man, from a very thin slab. I am loving this material.
It hails from Idaho, and it is very hard to come by.

These pieces are all on my lapidary bench in various stages of done-ness, and I am adoring them all for their unique and special beauties.

MEET ME IN THE THUNDERDOME!

(yep. posing just like Hulk Hogan)

But really, how do you not faint straight away? I hope you always look at these sitting back in the cushy chair! Each one of these makes me want to write a story, a vignette of sorts to describe the interworkings of each tiny scene. The earth is trembling...

Oooh like candy...

Lake Superior Agates are the thing around here. I'm constantly watching the ground for them and it's always a thrill to find one. Even more of a thrill knowing that there are people (like you) that can do such amazing things with them.
