Lately

NOTE: Both stones below got snapped up: thank you for your tremendous response via convos - woooo!!

In the past few months I have been lapping up some fabulous slabs when I travel and taking a chance on some online (you kinda never know what you're going to get - camera angles, lighting, etc....) and oh my oh my oh my have these rough slabs become art.

These photos are from Ed's camera of  two stones (there will be a total of four or five) that he so artfully, gracefully and wonderfully cabbed from my sent-in slabs:

These are a tease of what will arrive in my home in the coming week-or-so -

Please tell me:

HOW AM I GOING TO SLEEP UNTIL THEY ARRIVE????

I think I had a kitten when I saw these pictures.
(hee hee, Heather!)

Ed does something very special with stones; there is an understanding and respect in his work for the material and the person who will someday set it or (like me) covet her collection and open boxes every day for inspiration and excitement.

I hope you drink in the gorgeous magenta of that mookaite (and that dendrite, my goodness!) and the growing green of the laguna agate - may they refill any dry wells you have.

Now how will the rest of us sleep?!?

That agate in particular is wonderfully restful to look at.

That dendrite is to die for! Especially against the vibrant pink background. Can't wait to see what you make with them.

I have some slab of my own that I've been slowly collecting. I was going to wait until I used up some of the pieces I have on hand-but that isn't going so well :)

Show us the rest when they reach you!

Oh wow.....I love those! Look at that dendrite! I've sent a slab to Ed before, and I love working with him. I can't wait to see the rest.

Those stones---are delicicious! You can't wait for them to arrive, and we can't wait to see what you create!

The mookaite reminds me of how I've felt lately - buffeted by winds, bent back, but still resilient, still standing.

Gorgeous stones, A. As always. I look forward to seeing what you do with them!

OH MY! does that mookaite already belong to someone? or are you just making it and first come? i'm buggy eyed over it!

Mmmmm... the mookaite reminds me of a dandelion against a pink sunset... Looking forward to seeing what you craft with these!

Someone has a nose for slabs! Each of these stones is so beautiful in extremely unique ways.
The first stone combines rich colors with a sweet haziness, giving the stone a dream like quality.
The second stone's combination of sharp lines and graduation of color reminds me of an alien life form or exotic plant growth, like a Venus Fly Trap.
Quite simply, you are making me slab hungry!
