Beauty and Worry And Underdog Houses

Tomorrow morning we are going to see this little house:

On a street of houses that sit back in nice yards it is right up on the sidewalk with a giant window into its soul. Built in the 1940s, it predated any other house in its immediate surrounding area (at least so it appears from Google Street View) and the woodworking inside is really something lovely.
Today we saw loveliness of a purely natural sort:

And, as with any change, today began my worry. On the heels of my three best months ever as a craftsperson ( and on the verge of a leathercraft book deal, too! ) I have a fear of falling sales.
I must stop reading Yahoo bylines when I check my mail.

I would like to believe that people need beauty to get by.
Now is the time to trust more than ever in my connection to the divine and just continue doing what I am doing.

Nothing is linear, no siree....

I love the red door on the house. Thank you for continuing to share your Nor. Cal trip with us. I think you did send some warmer weather our way- mid 40s today and supposed to be in the 50s tomorrow! Hope you have a wonderful day exploring tomorrow.

It looks beautiful there. Don't read Yahoo.I would like to think there is a growing activism/interest with everybody going "green" and more people will want to buy from artists and not Walmart (at least I hope so). On my front, turns out my hubby is more terrified than excited by our change, so we might not have a change at all. I guess everything happens in due course. Take care.

TOTALLY. As we as individuals are increasingly betrayed by the corporations and industries that we have served for years, more and more people are becoming inspired by the inverse, willing and excited to support other individuals because doing so provides a sense of hope for ourselves as well.

Keep on keepin' on!

Change is so hard! It stirs up all those anxieties that normally you deal with more easily.

We do need beauty in our lives, and so many people value handmade art. I think this is a time for cutting back on shoddily-made, short-lasting goods and investing in items for a lifetime. Yours are obviously the latter! Try not to worry too much.

Oh, I so agree about not reading those bylines. I need to just close my eyes when I log out of Hotmail! Avert those eyes! :) We all know what is going on with the economy and don't need to be bombarded with the "doom and gloom" the media is spreading.

I especially love this from Good Girl Studios:

Wise words these fellow blog ladies have provided.

P.S. Thanks for stopping by my almost non-existant blog. :)
